Ari Meyers - Biography

Ariadne Meyers (Ari for short) was born on April 6,1969 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her mother is actress/singer Taro Meyer who has appeared on the soap operas All My Children & Another World and in Sidney Sheldon's Memories of Midnight with Ari.

Ari's twinkling hazel green eyes and sparkling smile were spotted early on and she quickly landed roles in TV commercials and in advertising print. Just another pretty face? Not. At the tender age of 4 years old, Ari penned a play called "The Super Magic Show" for her nursery school. She not only wrote the script and the songs, she also choreographed the dancing, designed the costumes and even directed the other actors. Her brief foray into showbiz took a 7 year hiatus when she retired in order to spend more time with her friends and to concentrate on her schooling.

"Author! Author!" was Ari's first major role but she'll always be remembered most for her role as Emma McArdle on the TV Series Kate & Allie. School remained a vital part of her life and she juggled her acting career while maintaining a full load of courses such as Advanced French, Physics, British Poetry, Calculus, & Political Science.   As if all that wasn't enough for this energetic vegetarian, Ari always set aside time for a rigorous workout on nautilus equipment as well as aerobics.

In 1990, Ari left "Kate & Allie" and used her earnings to finish her studies at Yale and graduated with honors and a double major in Philosophy and Theater Arts. Over the next decade she's appeared in numerous made-for-tv movies and guest starred on a number of television series.

Ms Meyers expanded her resume by using her vocal talent to narrate audiobooks. She has over 30 of them to her credit including The Amy Fisher Story, The Wish and A Kitten's Tale to name a few. She can also be heard as the "Mom" on Disney's Cartoon Show Stanley.

2003 saw the release of Ari's original children's story "The Triumphant Beautiful Egg".   It can be found on the audiobook "Treasury of Contemporary Children's Stories" and is performed by Jeremy Irons.

2003 also marked Ari's return to the stage when she appeared in the Play "Theophilus North" in New York.   I had the pleasure of seeing her perform in this play and she was amazing in it.

2004 brought Ari back to the Theatre performing in the Play "Little Willy".

Today Ari is concentrating on her charity work and her organization My Purpose Party®. The goal of My Purpose Party® is to help people unlock their own innate creativity by using the things they love to do to be of service to the world.

Ari is currently doing a pilot project implementing My Purpose Party® with teens in the L.A. School system. She has also been working with a group of teens in foster care in NYC. They developed a My Purpose Party® called To Whom It May Concern, a show in which they used passion for music, dance and theater for the purpose of increasing the awareness of the issues facing children in foster care. The show has been performed for the ACS, (Administration for Children's services), for the NYS Permanent Judicial Commission on Justice for Children, chaired by Hon. Judith S. Kaye, former Chief Judge of the state of New York, and will be performing for the National Council for Juvenile and Family Court Judges at the Hilton Hotel in New York. And other venues are requesting the show as well.

She has also been busy narrating audiobooks: The Opposite of Love, The Cookbook Collector, Fancy Nancy, Pinkalicious and Purplelicious.
